River Drina Grand Regatta
The River Drina Grand Regatta – Drina, the green river of surreal beauty – is the oldest tourist and recreational event of its kind in Serbia. This annual event takes place with the aim of preserving the ancient rafts-man tradition. The River Drina Regatta is the event that draws the largest crowds in Western Serbia and is a central summer event on the river. This three-day happening on the river is expected to attract many domestic and foreign visitors this year.
The main attraction is the Drina Downfall, which sees hundreds of floating vessels and crews take part accompanied by trumpeters; there’s also a floating bar, a musical raft, a barbecue, as well as other domestic culinary specialities and, finally, a swim in the River Drina is an absolute must.

The annual
Trumpeters Assembly has been one of the events making our country unique on the world
tourist map for years. The Guča Trumpet Festival presents Serbia as a land of optimism,
joy and genuine hospitality. The wonderful, authentic sound of the trumpet has astonished
even legendary musicians, like Miles Davis back in the day. The events that draw
the largest crowds are most certainly the competitions of trumpet orchestras and

SHEARING ON THE HEAVENLY MOUNTAIN
Reaping on Mt. Rajac
Travel writers of the past named this mountain covered with groves and flowery meadows as Heaven on Earth, because of its sheer beauty. In olden times, when the crops were harvested with the help of friends and neighbours through an old custom known as ‘husking bees’, the reaping would always eventually turn into a true festivity. Certainly the oldest and most renowned festivity of this kind in Serbia is Reaping on Mt. Rajac. The first competition of reapers on Rajac took place along with the first popular fair, in 1892. Today, the Reaping is a picturesque tourist event with an international flair.
